Four practical presentation starting points
A useful template is a repeatable structure, not decoration. These four starting points tell you what each slide needs to accomplish.
Pick the structure that matches the job
- Minimal pitch — promise, problem, demo, proof, ask.
- Lesson — learning goal, concept, worked example, practice, recap.
- Product update — goal, shipped work, evidence, risks, next milestone.
- Case study — context, constraint, intervention, result, lesson.
Apply one visual rule
Keep a consistent heading position, use one accent color, and reserve the largest type for the one sentence the audience must remember. The built-in themes handle the baseline typography; your job is to edit the content down.
Start with the matching sequence, use --- between slides, and remove any slide that does not advance the story.
